One Restaurant Banned These Words
Just in time for Restaurant Week, a nice reminder of how good we have it in Newport.
Unless you’ve spent the last few days underwater, desperately trying to conduct repairs on a yacht that was supposed to have left for the Caribbean two weeks ago, you know that Newport Restaurant week is back. It’s a great chance for the culinary artists of our town to show off to a new crowd in what would otherwise be another slow week in November.
Newport’s industry folk are an interesting batch. While fitting the general restaurant stereotype of non-conformists averse to the 9-5 grind, Newport benefits from the state’s general lack of 9-5 grind jobs because our most interesting and creative individuals either bail out of the Ocean State or they come down to the City-by-the-Sea to make a living getting you fat, drunk and happy.
However, other places don’t have the luxury of over-educated restaurant staffs. Case in point is a Chick-Fil-A (location unknown) where one manager, “Eric”, has had enough of the employees sounding…unprofessional.
So be happy you’re in Newport and not (wherever this is actually from).
