Yappy Hour 2017 is the cocktail party for Rhode Island pet lovers to help homeless animals.

If you love the Potter League and you love super swanky cocktail parties at Newport mansions, then you won’t believe the most amazing event happening on Sunday, July 16. Yappy Hour 2017 is your opportunity to enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a dessert bar and live music at the amazing Beacon Rock Mansion.

The Potter League For Animals

The Potter League for Animals is an organization dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of all animals and provides care  and shelter for lost or unwanted pets. By fostering relationships between people and animals,  providing education and remaining committed to the care of animals, the Potter  League looks to enrich the human experience and enhance the lives of animals.

As an open admission shelter, they can help as many animals as possible, accepting owner-surrendered animals and strays from local communities. About two thousand animals arrive at the shelter each year. Learn more about this amazing organization at their website.

 

Beacon Rock Mansion

The Beacon Rock estate, located off of the Ocean Drive at 147 Harrison Ave in Newport, RI, sits on eight acres and features two thousand feet of frontage on Brenton Cove, overlooking Newport Harbor and Fort Adams.

A Greek-inspired design, the mansion was referred to as the “Acropolis of Newport”, and features 48 monolithic columns and open porches of solid marble.

Commissioned in 1887 by Commodore Edwin D. Morgan, the building was designed by architect Stanford White of New York’s renouned McKim, Mead & White firm. Check out this video for more!
