Front man passed suddenly Wednesday night in Detroit.

One of the biggest names to come out of the ’90s music scene has died. Chris Cornell, whose first band Soundgarden burst out of the Seattle grunge scene with the Grammy-winning songs Black Hole Sun and Spoonman. Soundgarden broke up in 1997.

In 2001, Cornell formed Audioslave, a supergroup that included Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk

Chris Cornell also had a solo career that spanned 16 years and included the Casino Royale theme You Know My Name.

Our heart goes out the Cornell family as they deal with the loss of a husband and father. The music world has just experienced a massive loss.

RIP Chris Cornell.
