RIP Joe Cocker, Dead At 70

British crooner loses battle with lung cancer.

Legendary hitmaker Joe Cocker passed away today at age 70 “after a hard fought battle with small cell lung cancer”. Born John Robert Cocker in 1944, Joe Cocker rose to fame in 1964 and stayed there until this very day.

His cover of the Beatles’ “With A Little Help From My Friends“, performed at Woodstock, was used for the into to the television show The Wonder Years and has been voted the seventh greatest song cover ever.

He also received a Grammy for Up Where We Belong, featured on the soundtrack of An Officer And A Gentleman.
