SHOTS FIRED! Newport Projects Get All “Projecty”

Newport’s ‘Hood flares up with violence ahead of Labor Day Weekend.

On a day when the rest of the country is laughing at Rhode Island for a Westerly man going super redneck and shooting corn cobs at his neighbor’s house while shirtless, Newport Heights went super-“projecty” this morning when actual gunshots were fired at a house in the¬†Newport Heights Housing Development and a man was hit by a car in a “related” incident.

These events took place near the intersection of West Evans Street & Beech Tree Street around 10:30am.

Newport Patch reports that according to Newport Police, these incidents do not pose a threat to the general public.

It would certainly appear that everyone in Rhode Island from all walks of life want to take care of their grudges “summer-style” and lash out before autumn really shows up and the leaves start changing color.

Hopefully all involved have been taken into custody. The suspect has been arrested and identified.
