There’s trivia night, karaoke night—why not add “taco night” to your Newport summer weekday agenda?

Tacos at The Smoke House

Tuesdays: The Smoke House

Now that The Smoke House is open for the summer, Executive Chef Walter Slater invites customers a special offer—buy one of their signature Giant Tacos, get another one free, all day long every Tuesday. The Giant Taco is filled with your choice of pulled pork, brisket, fried chicken, or skirt steak; lettuce, tomato, cheddar, guacamole, sour cream and hot sauce. Grab a friend, two Garden Party cocktails (organic cucumber vodka, Riesling, and lime) and you’re good to go!

*Tip from TNB: If you like staying up and eating late (i.e. shameless bar hopping, followed by drunk food), The Smoke House’s entire food menu is half off 10pm – 12am, every Sunday through Thursday.

Wednesdays: Tallulah’s Taco Cart at Aquidneck Growers’ Market

Tallulah on Thames, one of Newport’s modern farm-to-table restaurants, has a cult following for its taco cart alone. Even though the Tallulah’s Taco Cart isn’t actually held at night, it’s still worth marking on your calendar.

*Tip from TNB: On the off chance you venture off of Aquidneck Island, check out Tallulah’s Taqueria on 146 Ives Street in Providence, RI—word on the street is that they sell breakfast tacos and burritos everyday!

Thursdays: Diego’s

Starting at 4pm, you can choose from five different taco plates priced at $10 or under. Whatever protein you pick—tender pulled pork or roasted seasonal veggies ($5); pan-seared cod, zesty chicken, crispy tofu or sauteed beef ($7); crispy fried chicken tacos ($8); or pan-seared ahi tuna or tender grilled hangar steak ($10)—is served with the perfect tortilla, salsa, and vegetables to complement the flavor.

*Tip from TNB: The White Peach Sangria. That is all.

Remember—tacos always make weekdays better days.
