Weather Alert: Try Not To Die Out There

By  |  0 Comments

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Newport County.

It looks like most indecisive of weather, freezing rain might make an appearance tonight. While it might not know if it wants to be rain or snow, it does know that it wants to kill you, so be careful out there.

  • … PATCHY BLACK ICE AND PERHAPS EVEN ISOLATED POCKETS OF FREEZING DRIZZLE MAY IMPACT THE EARLY TUESDAY MORNING COMMUTE…
  • TEMPERATURES OVERNIGHT WILL MAINLY BE BELOW FREEZING ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND. IT REMAINS UNCERTAIN IF ANY SPOTTY FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL BE ABLE TO DEVELOP AHEAD OF THE TUESDAY MORNING RUSH HOUR. EVEN IF IT DOES NOT END UP DEVELOPING… BLACK ICE MAY STILL OCCUR ON ROADWAYS GIVEN AMPLE LOW LEVEL MOISTURE. THIS IS VERY HARD FOR MOTORISTS TO DETECT WHILE DRIVING AND CAN RESULT IN SLIPPERY TRAVEL.
  • MOTORISTS PLANNING TRAVEL EARLY TUESDAY MORNING SHOULD CHECK ROAD CONDITIONS BEFORE THEY LEAVE FOR THEIR DESTINATIONS. PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR THE POTENTIAL FOR EITHER SPOTTY FREEZING DRIZZLE AND/OR PATCHY BLACK ICE.

If you do hit some ice out there, try not to jerk it.
