A Treasure Hunt Has Just Started All Over Aquidneck Island

Hundreds of bronze medallions have been placed along Aquidneck Island’s trails, beaches and parks in what’s probably the area’s biggest treasure hunt ever.

A slight dip in temperatures and a return to the schoolwork grind might have started the temptation to spend a little more time indoors. Fortunately, a local artist has the cure for that with a little project that gives everyone an excuse to get outside and start exploring the beauty of Aquidneck Island. It’s a treasure hunt for the whole family!

Jeff Soderbergh has created hundreds of bronze medallions and placed them in numerous scenic locations across Aquidneck Island. They’re within one foot of the trails and above the high tide line on beaches. Here’s where to look:

  • Aquidneck Land Trust trails
  • Beaches: Easton’s (First), Sachuest (Second) and Third Beach
  • Cliff Walk
  • Fort Adams
  • Sachuest Point

If you happen to find one of the Treasure Aquidneck Island medallions, you get to keep it. You can register your find on their website and/or post a pic of it on social media with the hashtag #AquidneckTreasure.
