Don’t miss the documentary “You Must Be This Tall: The Story of Rocky Point Park”!

Released in theaters back in 2007, You Must Be This Tall: The Story Of Rocky Point takes us all the way back to 1847 and gives us the origin story of Rhode Island’s most famous amusement park. Jam-packed with history, it features commentary from some of the Ocean State’s biggest celebrities, from Buddy Cianci to Tony Petrarca, a few Presidents…along with plenty of locals who spent a good chunk of their summer vacations at the park.

We can’t help but to think that in many ways. Rocky Point’s history reflects that of Rhode Island’s. It was, for a long time, the focus of the country’s attention. It was destroyed by two hurricanes, first in 1938, then in 1954…but after each it was rebuilt. As the years went on, financial mismanagement took a toll and eventually everything ended up on the auction block. Hopefully the state can avoid that last bit.

Anyhow, watch You Must Be This Tall and take a trip down memory lane!
