Take a guess which one.

Actually, it was Esquire reposting a photo slideshow from Country Living. We know how everyone in Newport loves to read about themselves in the national media, so we’re always on the lookout for articles that might give the city a mention.

So when Esquire just posted “13 of the Oldest Buildings in America”, we had to take a peak to see if any of Newport’s numerous colonial era buildings made the list.

Sure enough, when we got to slide #11…

The photo itself is quite impressive in that it somehow got approved for publication in a publication which one would expect to have “standards”. The lighting is all wrong.

Not to toot our own horn, but we know to shoot objects with the sun behind us…

So congrats to the White Horse Tavern for being recognized by Esquire for being old. We prefer to recognize them for their cocktails.
