Everyone Had A Blast At Newport’s White Party! (Video)

Newport’s party of the summer was a smashing success!

We gave you the heads up last week that Newport was in store for quite the shindig Saturday night and boy did it deliver. Held this year at the lawn of the Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina, this has to be one of those few times when everyone’s outfits matched those of the large number of vessels arrayed in the perfect manner to compliment all the guests’ sunset photos.

The party was sponsored by Tito’s Vodka and Moet & Chandon champagne, both products the well-heeled attendees were likely well familiar with and eager to enjoy.

Hosts Adam Manoli and JP Smollins pulled out all the stops, making sure that it was a great party and a great fundraiser for the charities being sponsored, such as the Heather Abbott Foundation and Boston Strong New York Tough, a charity that helps with families of cancer victims with their expenses. Adam and JP have grown this event from a small gathering at a second floor apartment on Dixon Street in 2011 to a party with over 150 guests in 2016.

The event featured a silent auction for items like uber-fashionable handbags, Rockstar Gym memberships and a year’s free entry into Dockside.

On a personal note, we took away a very valuable lesson. When we were in college, our fraternity held its own White Party. We purchased a pair of white painter’s pants for the occasion. A decade later, we finally had a chance to wear them again. It just goes to show you that you can come away from your college experience with things that you’ll use in the real world.

One amusing anecdote were these guys:

newport white party crashers

A bachelor party staying at the hotel discovered that their patio opened up to the white party, so they grabbed the white robes from their rooms and crashed, albeit in a rather obvious manner. The folks in charge decided to leave them be, provided they didn’t make a run for the open bar.

To be honest, we can’t really blame them. Here were the cream of Newport’s best looking crop, having a blast. We’d have tried to sneak in too. Maybe they’ll buy tickets for the next one.

We can’t wait to see what Adam and JP have in store for next year.
