An Important Instagram Trick For National Rosé Day

By  |  0 Comments

Most rosé drinkers don’t know how to write this on their smartphones.

It’s National Rosé Day and there’s something a whole lot of you, especially among Instagram users and the wine community, don’t know how to do. Fortunately, we can explain a little trick to you that will help broadcast your love of the pink wine across the Interwebs!

First, the problem:

There are a lot of people using the hashtag #rosewine out there. That’s likely because they realized that the hashtag #rose would throw their vino in with a bunch of flowers, which is nice, but not necessarily accurate. The challenge?

How do you type an “e” with an accent over it on your phone?

There are two ways to do this.

1) The hard way

The first is pretty obtrusive and not recommended unless you’re actually typing in a French a lot.

You download a French keyboard for your phone. This is a pretty bad idea for those of you who don’t utilize the French language a lot, because, among other things, the keyboard is added to the rotation between your conventional English keyboard and your precious emojis, which everyone uses way more than ever.

But if you’re interested in adding or changing keyboards, go here to learn more.

2) The easy way

It’s actually stupidly easy to make an “é”…or an “ê” or “ë” or whatever.

All you need to do is find the “e” on your keyboard and hold it down for a couple seconds. This will appear:

And there you go.

Now you can explore your phone’s keyboard and see what other letters have easter egg versions as well!

What’s “é” called anyway?

Technically, it’s “e with an acute accent“, which is probably pretty close to what you were calling it in the first place.

Happy Rosé Day!!!

Celebrate by stopping by Bridge Liquors or, if you’re not in the area, order rosé online!
