Learn The Left Way At This Pint Night Tonight

Pour Judgement is hosting Left Hand Brewing!

It seems like it was only yesterday that we were writing about last year’s return of Left Hand Brewing to the Rhode Island market. At the time, they were doing a big push for their Milk Stout Nitro to become a viable alternative to Guinness in the lead up to St. Patrick’s Day.

Milk Stout Nitro

milk-stout-nitroWell, this year…they’re doing the same thing. Tonight, their Milk Stout Nitro will be tapped at Pour Judgement for a pint night event!

The beer is silky smooth, like Guinness, but with a bit more of a bite, both in flavor and ABV, which at 6% is almost 50% higher than that of 4.2% Guinness.

Joining the Milk Stout Nitro will be…

Fade To Black (Vol. 5)

fadetoblack3Fade to Black recently became a rotating seasonal…of black beers. Volume 5 is a Black Rye Ale. Here’s the brewery description, because we haven’t had the pleasure quite yet…

Summer is over, but cheer up pretty people, it’s time for the newest installment in our Fade to Black Series. This Rye Ale boasts a deep dark brown body with an off white head. This dark brew envelopes your nose with aromas of dark coffee, maple wood and hints of dark agave nectar. The flavor is an intense evolution that starts off with nut bread flowing into molasses followed by a taste of licorice. This lands on spicy rye notes all before being washed away by earthy hop, leaving behind a slight black pepper sensation. So put away the bathing suit, pop a bottle of this black beauty and watch summer fade way.

With 7.8% ABV, it’s got a bit more octane than the Milk Stout.

Polestar Pils

polestarCraft lagers have been making a serious resurgence in the craft beer world over the last couple years (see Jack’s Abbey) but Left Hand was way ahead of the curve when it released this pilsner back in 2005.

Once you have tasted a true Pilsner, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have  seen the light, and there you will always long to return. Let Polestar guide you out of the wilderness, just as the North Star has guided explorers to their destinations and back home again. Light, crisp and elegant, pilsner is the true test of brewing prowess. Less is more.

This is a great beer for those of you looking for a methadone for your Budweiser addictions.

Hard Wired Porter Nitro

hard-wired-nitroA little while back, brewers figured that that human beings like their beverages to be very similar by color. Clear means lighter, like water, Sprite and tequila, while dark means goth and coffee. So they’ve started adding all the goodness that is mocha to their dark beers. Some of the time, they do it the same way vineyards add hints of melon to their Sauvignon Blanc (They suggest that they’re there). Other times, they just add coffee and cacao to the beer.

Innately predisposed to be smooth when Poured Hard, this nitro coffee porter builds a pillowy, toffee-sweet head. Coffee and flavors of caramelized sugar, cacao and hints of blueberry lead to a light, smoky finish.

Free Swag

So get to Pour Judgement tonight from 7-9 and order one of the above beers…and you’ll be able to keep the pint glass it comes in. There will also be a short guy with a British accent named Tony wandering around the place, offering free samples and lots of Left Hand bottle openers, coozies, flamethrowers, grenade launchers and maybe a t-shirt or something.

See you there! Event goes from 7-9.
