Trump Rally To Be Held In Newport July 4

Freedom Convoy to occupy Ocean Drive for the whole of Independence Day weekend.

Concerns about Newport looking like a circus may be well-founded. Previously, the worries were about party bikes, leading to them being banned from operating in Newport. Now the ultimate ringmaster is set to arrive in Newport for the 4th of July, with Donald Trump announcing that he’ll be holding a rally at Fort Adams that Monday.

The 45th President of the United States has been holding increasingly larger rallies as he attempts to resurrect the support he enjoyed in the lead-up to the 2020 election. With two years to go before the 2024 Presidential election, Trump is holding physical rallies with supporters as a way to build support for the primaries and circumvent the Big Tech censorship that was intended to cut him off from his base.

In an e-mail sent to New England-based Trump supporters obtained by the Blast, Trump outlined his plans for a July 4th Rhode Island rally to be held in Newport. We can only assume he dictated this because it sounds exactly as he speaks.

We were looking for a good venue, something with a view of the water. I want to make sure that people can take good selfies at my rallies, the best selfies! I hear Newport’s beautiful in the summer and I want American patriots to enjoy that view while we celebrate this amazing country’s birthday.

Fort Adams will provide a historic backdrop for American’s most historic President. More importantly, it’s a very defendable position of things get out of hand.

I can’t wait to see all the boats. A lot of Rhode Island’s boat owners are big fans of mine. They have their boats in Rhode Island, but thanks to Sleepy Joe, gas for those boats has never been more expensive. So I said, “You know what? We’re going to come to them. I’m going to save them money on gas, like a real President is supposed to do.”

A Trump-tilla of boats

While Newporters are used to boats anchoring off Fort Adams for the Folk and Jazz Festival, it’s unlikely that they’re prepared for the sight of hundreds of speedboats docked in the mouth of Newport Harbor, all cranking Lee Greenwood’s “Proud To Be An American”

Expect Newport to be full of tractor trailers

No sooner than Trump announced the Rhode Island rally, then “The People’s Convoy” posted a press release to announce that they would be showing up in Newport with several hundred of their tractor-trailers for the whole of Fourth of July weekend in Newport. They intend to drive their trucks around the city of Newport, waving their flags, honking their horns and parking their trucks overnight all over Ocean Drive.

Given that Newport city traffic is always a nightmare around the 4th of July, all of this is likely to make traffic for the holiday weekend the worst the island has ever seen. We could see bridge traffic go back as far as URI.

Unfortunately, as bad as this news seems, there’s one more thing you need to know about all this…
